MATTHEW SHATZ: MANAGING PRINCIPAL, FOUNDER
Founded in 2023, Shatz Capital is a Miami based boutique private equity & debt advisory firm specializing in commercial real estate investment and capital market transaction experience.
Shatz Capital advises clients nationally, with a primary focus on the markets of South Florida, New York City - Tri-State Area, and Philadelphia, where Mr. Shatz has an extensive track record of directly participating in the successful origination, execution, and investment in over $7 billion of commercial real estate capital market transactions. Over his 15-year career, Shatz has had the opportunity to work on transactions across all asset types and investment positions within the capital stack.
Most notably, Shatz brings with him a deep understanding and expertise in arranging construction and bridge financing for large mixed-use, multifamily, and residential condominium transactions ranging from $5 - $500+ million.
Prior to founding Shatz Capital, Matthew was Co-Head of the Debt & Structured Finance division at RIPCO Real Estate, where he launched the vertical nationally for the NY-based brokerage. Before joining RIPCO, Matthew was a Managing Director at B6 Real Estate Advisors’ NY-based Capital Advisory practice which he joined in 2019. In 2020 Matthew was recognized by B6 with their Top Producer award, leading all Capital Advisory agents in origination volume. He was additionally recognized by Commercial Observer as one of the “Top 25 Under 35 Professionals in Commercial Real Estate Finance”. Leading up to B6, Matthew spent several years at a NY-based boutique private equity and advisory shop where he executed several billion dollars in successful commercial real estate financings. Prior to his move into the advisory space, Shatz was on the principal investment side of the business as an Associate at Related Companies, after spending half a decade in Investment Banking at JP Morgan where he began his career.
Mr. Shatz earned his Bachelor's degree in finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
